The new season welcomes a comprehensive collection from trouser specialist, Brühl. Putting a clear emphasis on innovation, a/w 18 sees the introduction of “Future Pants”, a concept which offers advanced fabrics that behave as denim and even wool, yet retain the characteristics – stylish, durable and easy to wear – that make them appealing to the consumer.
With sustainability the main driver behind this development, following feedback from both end consumers and retailers, the collection offers a more responsible route of garment design. Key features include elastic fabric and comfort stretch waistband, iron free and climate control capabilities.
Other innovations central to the a/w 18 offering include Polar Denim – a range of denims with microfine polar fleece on the reverse of the fabric, Natural Thermo Pants – featuring a warming handle function, without bonding or lining, and “Mover” – high stretch fabrics such as wool optics, structures, denims and twills.
Attention to details, trims and high-quality linings are then incorporated into a crafted garment, be it trouser or jean.
In terms of colour palette, the range is characteristically autumnal, featuring burnt orange, khaki, greige and medium blue tones.
Brühl is known for its quality fit and this season is no different, with many new ideas and styles. In addition to Bruhl’s well-established models, a second fit has been unveiled, which sees Flat Front and 5-Pocket styles being produced with a lower rise, and narrower bottoms, creating a slimmer silhouette without tightness around the leg.
In its native Germany, the brand is one of the largest suppliers of men’s trousers and jeans. Founded in 1923, it is now available in over 30 countries worldwide, with over 1500 menswear independent retailers.
The last twelve months have seen a strong performance from the German label, with a 20 per cent growth in turnover, and the development of partnerships with customers in many important export markets, including China, Italy, and the UK. Brühl has a loyal following in the UK and Irish markets, where it has been operating for over 25 years, having been introduced by its current agents, Michael Spriggs Agencies, and where a unique UK fit and sizes, and stock back-up have been appreciated by its consumer following, and retailers alike.
Maro Nachtrab, managing director of Brühl, is driving the company forward, putting innovation at the heart of each collection, keeping the company at the forefront of production methods and new digital marketing initiatives – including the launch of a new B2B stock support service.
