This weekend will welcome the s/s 18 edition of home and gift trade fair, Top Drawer. Taking place at London’s Olympia from the 14-16 January, exhibitors include Oliver Spencer, Hamilton & Hare, James Cromwell London, Ryoko Bags and many more.

As part of a comprehensive seminar schedule, speakers from the likes of Facebook, Farrow & Ball, Selfridges, Vogue Living and Topshop will share top tips on everything from starting a creative business and growing your social media to creating engaging visual displays and selling your story to journalists and much more.

On Sunday 14th, Facebook certified trainer Natasha Courtenay-Smith (pictured) will take centre stage to divulge essential information on making the most of social media with How to Use Facebook Ads to Grow Your Business. With plenty of examples, steps and practical advice including the formula for highly effective Facebook ads that can be applied straight away, this session will show how to make Facebook ads work for your business.

On Tuesday 16th, Geraldine James, buying manager at Selfridges will explain how to Start Thinking “Stories” – exploring the customer experience at the premium department store, visual merchandising, home and stationery buying decisions, trends and influences and must-hear tips to maintaining success in the luxury sector.

Also taking to the stage on Tuesday is Fiona McCarthy, Vogue’s Living Editor, blogger at Chic Shopper and author of London Precincts will share Top 10 Tips for Selling Your Story to Journalist. From research and understanding target media, to writing press releases with a great hook, to interesting sound bites and why you should never give up, this masterclass provides top tips on getting your work and products into the press.

Finally, Jeremy Cook, chief economist of World First will share International Trading Tips for Creative Businesses in the Digital Age. This masterclass, designed for both bricks and mortar and digital based businesses, navigates cross boarder expansion, logistics, currency and getting paid.
